My Fascination with Faces

Last week I featured the human form and this week I am focusing on the face. The great thing about this time in my history is that I feel I am catching up on painting all the things I love most about art.

When I talked to my husband about the variety of work I am doing, he said, "you are covering all the bases of the human experience from abstract to reality!"

Faces have been my devotion right from the start of my knowing that creativity would be my life course. It continues to fascinate me to this day.

A Dear Gentleman came in this week and told me Buddha Boy was his favorite painting in the gallery. He continued by telling me that he was raised in Vietnam and to save him during the troubled times in his country, he was put in a monastery with his uncle and raised as a Buddhist Monk. He left the Monastery and came to America and has done well for himself now owns a construction company.

This painting moved him and I realize that even though I do not always know why I paint what I paint, sometimes the story is not clear until someone comes into the gallery or sees the piece on line and it resonates with them.

I now feel that this young child makes more sense to me and I love the story that goes with the vision.
