Holding the World Child, Jessel Miller
48" x 36"
$10,000
This Soul is holding the world as our child close to our hearts.

This Spirit is wearing the robes of wisdom.
We have a choice right this moment

To change the world for future generations by the decisions we make TODAY.

This Androgynous Soul speaks to and represents ALL of US.

The "football hold" allows and embraces this Baby~ Our World.

The Feather represent Freedom.

I believe WE NEED to protect our young ones from the weary words and world we are living in right now and always...All Ways.

As we struggle through a hard time in History let us join hands and circle and protect our children and grandchildren.

Rascal Rabbits, Jessel Miller
Acrylic
20" x 28"
$5700 including frame
Creatures are the Original Settlers on the land. They desire only to be respected and made precious in their silent quest for peace.

This week I honor all creatures, adding just a bit of humor and color to their coats. May these images bring a smile to your Face and tender thoughts to your Soul.

Animals have rights that we need to Honor. They cannot speak, yet their language is universal.

We know the sound of pain or fear or joy...we just have to listen.

All images below were completed this past week. I started some of them months ago, and let them gestate until the paper spoke to me and guided me to the final images.

Below you can see the Piggly Wiggly and how it started, as well as the Monkey Moments first incarnation that changed direction and image. The original images are available as prints and products at Jessel Miller Products

Animal's eyes have the power to speak a great language and tell stories. Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains asleep.

Piggly Wiggly started as a hippo. I added the word vulnerable because research said these creatures are becoming extinct. I painted over this image and did the pig instead yet feel I need to do a Hippo at another time.

Universal Child - Global Citizen

Universal Child - Global Citizen, Jessel Miller
I look up to the Children because they are closer to the truth in their innocent arrival on the planet.

Without knowing the world when they are born, they simply reflect their surroundings and return the energy they feel from the purity of their clear, naive Souls.

They begin as light and grace us with their Unconditional Love. They gradually develop and weave a tapestry of life experiences into their very being.

This painting represents the Universal Child coming into one's own and standing strong in the very core of one's being. It began as the abstract below and with very few strokes became Global Citizen.

Statue of Charity

Picture
Statue of Charity, Jessel Miller
This beam of light looking upward struck the very depths of my soul. A Modern Day Woman devoting her life to sharing her inner and outer wealth.

Like the Statue of Liberty she stands as a symbol of Unconditional Love and Devotion to Others.

Charity is the act of giving help to those in need of it. It is a humanitarian act. It involves giving money, goods or time and effort to those who need it.

It is done without expecting something in return

The Face of Truth, Jessel Miller
This year, many of my new paintings have great meaning and emotion for me.
"The Face of Truth"

was an abstract image at first and I thought it was done.

All the news about hunger happening across our country and the world filled my soul with a silent pain and suddenly this precious child's face appeared. I needed to put a face to the form and express my desire to reach out to the those who have to give to those less fortunate.

We support the local food bank supplying all the extra eggs from our farm.
Napa Food Bank .

Just recently I became aware of another organization needing our help called
Feed the Children

I believe putting a face to hunger is the best way to align with the greater good and help us open our hearts and pocket books in support of these brilliant causes.

So today as we enjoy our Thanks Giving Meals and Moments know that your kind generosity will put a meal on the table of our Neighbors in Need.

A portion of the proceeds of sales of PRODUCT of this image go to the both causes mentioned.

Napa Valley Food Bank: Our Mission Statement
We assist people to become (or remain) self-sufficient by lessening the stress of meeting their basic needs. We provide food to low-income families, individuals, seniors and to other organizations serving the poor. We have four different programs - Emergency food pantries located in Napa, Calistoga, St. Helena, Lake Berryessa, Angwin and American Canyon. The Natural Source is a culinary and community garden project. The Senior Brown Bag enables seniors over the age of 60 to remain independent by giving them a "brown bag" with 10-14 food items twice a month. USDA Surplus Food allows the food bank to administer 6-8 nonperishable food staples to low-income Napa residents once per month at 9 locations. On Fridays we give out any surplus food items so they do not go to waste due to our fairly small warehouse space. There is no eligibility requirement for this "give-away". Customarily there are 12-14 items, including perishable items such as dairy or produce that won't last for distribution the following week.

Feed the Children: Our Mission Statement
Feeding Hungry Children exists to end childhood hunger. Around the world, we provide nourishing meals every day to hungry children. We believe that everyone can work together to create a world where no child goes to bed hungry. When friends like you partner with us, we can meet the urgent physical needs of children by providing food, taking action in communities worldwide and creating long-term solutions for clean water, medical care and education. The Spirits Are Speaking

The Spirits Are Speaking, Jessel Miller
I ask myself each day if there is a message I need to convey in my work.

Originally this image was titled Butterfly Spirit. I could not seem to find the right direction until after seeing a program about the First Responders, Nurses, Doctors and Hospital Staff. The piece I had started a week ago then made sense. A nurse in the story I watched was pleading to all of us to PLEASE WEAR A MASK and take this virus SERIOUSLY.

The title changed as the piece developed and suddenly spirits spoke and the Butterfly face was gently covered in a mask.

I feel that the Butterfly represents the spirit of these souls who dedicate their lives to saving others and bringing peace through their presence. They flutter from person to person and their energy touches each patient with devotion and love.

Can you imagine the personal toll this virus is taking on our first line of defense, the caregivers? PTSD seems like the path they will walk when this virus is under control. I pray we provide the same dedication of care to all the precious souls who have committed their lives to saving others.

THIS IS A WAR and our Saving Soldiers Need our help.

TO ALL THE FIRST RESPONDERS...those living and those who have passed because of their dedication to healing this Pandemic...

BLESS YOU and THANK YOU for your SERVICE

All the proceeds of sales of any product with this image will go to supporting our First Responders.

PLEASE WEAR A MASK and Social Distance and Reach Out to loved ones on THANKS GIVING by zooming or calling.

HAVE A SAFE and Joy Filled Thanks Giving and know I send you all my Love.

A Time to Heal this Country

Believe in Dreams Every Night Close-up, Jessel Miller
A message came on October 22, 2020.

The voice that came to me in the middle of the night said " Paint Biden as Moses"
If you have been following my work since December 2019, voices have led me to this place I go to and I simply do the work.

We are not 2 sides in this country. We are a powerful, respected nation of individuals able to come together for the greater good. And so I present a piece I call Biden...Believe in Dreams Every Night. The spirits said it is time to get back to caring for each other and spreading seeds of LOVE in the Garden of Life.

No matter what you believe in, I believe we need to heal this country from the wounds of divisiveness, acrimony, disagreement, discord, disruptiveness and return to the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

The Words on the Tablet He Carries have not been written yet, if I were to guess
they would read: HONESTY, INTEGRITY, LOYALTY, FORGIVENESS, DEVOTION, DEDICATION, FREEDOM
And most of all LOVE

Hummingbird Heart

Hummingbird Heart, Jessel Miller
Earlier this week I had the honor and privilege of saving and holding a hummingbird in my hand. I was so inspired by the joy of this moment and the response many people had to this story. (Take Heart Page)

I opened to what I call "Spirit" and this image came through.
I believe there was so much loving response to this story because we are all weary and need some "Good News." We have never experienced so much unrest, fear, sadness and confusion as we sit in this "in between" place in all our lives not knowing what is coming or going. To hold this tiny creature in my hand, kiss the top of it's head and then watch it fly away felt like a sign that we need to keep our hearts open and our heads free of the noise surrounding us that is not positive and loving.

This woman felt like a dancer or a hood ornament on a grand old luxury automobile. She is directing us to look ahead and keep our souls focused on all the gifts each day brings us, both tiny like my hummingbird and grand like the fact that we are surrounded by loved ones and live in a country still brimming with hope.
~
Hummingbird Wisdom
Hummingbird teaches you how to celebrate all the blessings in your life, all while showing you how to open your heart and mind!

Hummingbird, the smallest among all birds, symbolizes lightness of being, swiftness, independence, courage, sensitivity, determination, love, beauty, endurance, wisdom, vitality, hope, and enjoyment of life.

To have a hummingbird as your spirit guide means that you love celebrating the sweet moments of life. You are playful and know how to express love fully. A messenger of jubilation and hope, you inspire those that need renewal and try to bring out the best in them.
Below is the progression of this painting from start to finish. It took awhile to reveal itself and some encouragement from my students to keep going!
Enjoy the fluttering of the
Hummingbird Heart.

Hummingbird Morning

Picture
My Cat (who truly is the sweetest boy and apologized to me) caught a hummingbird this morning. He dropped it when he saw me and I carried it in my hand stroking it's head and talking to it in hopes it would revive.

I prayed that it was not too far gone and waited a half hour on the front deck of my gallery. it's heart was beating so fast and I kissed the top of the hummingbirds head. WHAT A PRECIOUS MOMENT IN MY LIFE!

Finally it fluttered to a chair nearby and I waited with bated breath.

A moment later the baby flew away....This was my Blessing for the day. I have to paint a humming bird today! Let us all have a Hummingbird Blessing today

Red Moon

Picture
Red Moon over Feathered Dawn, Jessel Miller
This began as a Buddha Head in lavender and blue. I felt it had a message and waited a week until I had completed "Deer Woman in the Moonlight." I sensed she had a partner.

You can see the quiet Buddha head whispering behind this floating Spirit. I kept wondering if I am supposed to go further with this piece and since I am not clear, I decided to be still and ASK YOU.

This image is about the fading in and out of reality, as we ride through the smoke and unknown world today.

The feather symbolizes trust, honor, strength, wisdom, power and freedom
Picture
Deer Woman in the Moonlight, Jessel Miller
"Native American culture believes in animalism. This means everything in the universe possesses souls or spirits. As well as humans, this applies to plants, animals, and other natural phenomena.

So, to Native Americans, birds are very special. When a feather falls from a bird, for many tribes it’s seen as a vessel of all the energy carried by that bird in its life.
This energy is then gifted to the appropriate recipient that is deserving of such an honor. As a feather falls at any given time, it’s distinguished as a gift from the sky bearing spiritual purpose for the recipient."
